Rome conquered Judea (Israel/Palestine) in 64 AD. The Jews did not take kindly to this assault on their homeland and rebelled three times. Now, Israeli archaeologists and high school students have unearthed a settlement under which some of the rebels established hideouts cut into the bedrock. The homes above them had ritual baths and cisterns, some of which the rebels breached to get water.
